Ifeanyi Mathew will play in the Norwegian second division this season after he extended his contract with Lillestrom for a year as a free agent.
Lillestrom announced the contract extension.
His initial contract was to have ended July 31 and that will make him a free agent.
“The fact that Mathew stays here all season is the best reinforcement we could have received,” rejoiced Lillestrom sports director Simon Mesfin.
Recently Mathew was linked with a move to Danish club Aalsborg.
Last year, the midfielder twice rejected a move to Norway’s most successful club Rosenborg.
