Scottish club Motherwell will play off against German Bundesliga club Frieburg for a place in the group stage of the UEFA Conference League thanks to a brace by former Golden Eaglets star Ibrahim Said.
After missing the first leg in Finland, which ended in a 1-1 draw, Said delivered the two goals that took Motherwell past HJK Helsinki on a 3-1 aggregate.
Motherwell boss Alfred Johansson was full of praise for the Nigerian forward, who was Man of the Match in the team’s opening day victory in the Scottish Premiership.
“Outstanding performance from him, I’m so pleased for him,” he said.
“He has been really good at the start of the season for us, both in Europe and the league.”
