KAA Gent general manager Michel Louwagie has recalled that he was heavily criticised when he said he wanted 20 million Euros for the sale of Moses Simon then at the Belgian club.
“I was looked down on when I used to talk about a transfer fee of 20 million for Moses Simon,” Louwagie told Eleven Sport
“But I think that the transfer fees in Belgium are much too low.
“Transfer fees from the Netherlands are much higher even though they are lower in the UEFA rankings than Belgium.”
Gent eventually sold Simon to UD Levante for 3.5 million Euros and the La Liga club in turn sold the winger to FC Nantes for five million Euros.
The Gent official was talking against the background that they are in the process of selling striker Jonathan David to Lille for a record 27.5 million Euros.
