Coach Ladan Bosso will deploy his favoured 4-3-3 formation with emphasis on wing play for the Flying Eagles to get off to a winning start at the U20 World Cup against the Dominican Republic.
Flying Eagles top star Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Beji’ and Jude Sunday will run both flanks to create chances for main striker Emmanuel Umeh, while also weighing in with their own goals.
All three players have scored in test games in Argentina leading to today’s opening Group D match.
Umeh from Bulgarian club Botev Plodiv is the team’s leading scorer from these warm-up games against Colombia and Argentine team Club Almirante Brown.
He netted in both games, while ‘Beji’ and Jude Sunday hit target against Colombia.
The midfield will have Daniel Daga, Tochukwu Nnadi and Samson Lawal, who will be the link to the strike force.
Nnadi is the second defensive midfielder, but he has proved he can also go up front to score goals and against lesser opposition he will be encouraged to do so often.
Skipper Daniel Bameyi will be deployed to right back in place of Augustine Njoku to make up a back four that also has left back Solomon Agbalaka, central defenders Benjamin Frederick and Abel Ogwuche to protect goalkeeper Chijioke Aniagboso.
