The excitement of the Flamingoes achieving their best-ever performance at the FIFA U17 World Cup is fast fading as they are yet to be paid their winning bonuses.
The Flamingoes made history in India by finishing third at the U17 World Cup at the expense of European champions Germany.
The team received a warm welcome on their return home with several top officials splashing cash gifts on them.
These donations have since been shared by the team, but cash-strapped NFF have yet to play the bonuses promised them.
“There is no money,” a top official simply admitted.
Coaches of the national team have also not been paid this year amid speculations that the NFF have huge debts to service.
