Henry Onyekuru is shopping for a new club as things have not worked out as hoped at AS Monaco and could he have opened the door for a return to Anderlecht after some favourable remarks about his time at the Brussels club?
“I look back on my time in Brussels with satisfaction. I suddenly played against teams of the highest level such as PSG and Bayern Munich. That is not something that everyone will experience just like that,” Onyekuru told the BBC.
He scored nine goals in the league for Anderlecht on loan from Everton in the 2017/18 season.
However, it will also be recalled that Onyekuru was most critical of then Anderlecht coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck, claiming he cost him a place at the 2018 World Cup by not playing him when he returned from a long-term knee injury.
Vincent Kompany is now the man in charge at Anderlecht.
