The Golden Eaglets were tonight crowned champions of WAFU B after they beat Burkina Faso 2-1 in the Final of the U17 AFCON qualifying tournament in Cape Coast, Ghana.
The Nigerian youngsters thus made up for missing out on the sub-regional title last year when they fell 3-2 to Cote d’Ivoire.

Abubakar Abdullahi put Nigeria in front in the 20th minute, when he headed home a cross from the left whipped in by Emmanuel Michael.
However, against the run of play Burkina Faso drew level just before halftime when tall striker Ouedrago connected home a cross which had beaten the Golden Eaglets goalkeeper Richard Odoh.
Abdullahi scored his brace early from the restart when he scrambled across the goalline after the Burkina Faso goalkeeper failed to hold on to a free kick by Emmanuel Michael.
It was his third goal of the competition.
Ebube Okere crashed his effort against the crossbar on 67 minutes.
As expected Burkina Faso chased for the equaliser, but Nigeria defended stoutly with their lives to hold out for a hard-fought victory.
Both finalists will advance to the U17 AFCON in Algeria in March.
