The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria will now have to shoot their way past a tough Group B of the WAFU B U17 AFCON qualifiers in Burkina Faso next month to reach the tournament proper.
The five-time world champions, who have failed to qualify for the last two U17 AFCONs, will have to first go past Cote d’Ivoire and Niger in Group B of the WAFU B qualifiers to reach the knockout rounds of the qualifying series.
The Eaglets have lost to both Cote d’Ivoire and Niger in previous meetings.
Hosts Burkina Faso, Ghana, Benin and Togo have been drawn in Group A.
The tournament will be played between October 10 and 23 in Burkina Faso.
