Nigerian dominance in Belgian football has been extended after Gift Orban and Victor Boniface were nominated for the Ebony Boot, which is the prize handed the best African player in the country.
Both strikers shone in their debut season in Belgium after their transfer from Norway.
Victor Boniface, 22, has so far netted eight goals and provided seven assists for Union St.Gilloise, while Gift Orban, 20, fired 11 goals and delivered two assists for KAA Gent.
The two strikers will vie for the top award along with the Genk trio of Joseph Paonstil, Mike Tresor and Bilal El Khaninouss.
Victor Ikpeba, Daniel Amokachi, Godwin Okpara, Celestine Babayaro and Paul Onuachu have been previous Nigerian winners of this prestigious individual prize.
