Gent are no longer under pressure to sell sensational Gift Orban in this transfer window after they got a massive financial lifeline with the recent takeover of the club.
According to Het Nieuwsblad, the Belgian club could therefore insist on their staggering asking price of 30 Million Euros for the 21-year-old striker, who has within eight months has taken Belgian football by storm.
Gift Orban cost Gent a little more than Three Million Euros in January.
Qualification for the group stage of the UEFA Europa Conference League may even mean Gent will make a last-ditch signing in attack instead of losing their star striker this summer.
In recent weeks, reported interest of top European clubs for Gift Orban has faded at least in the media.
It may therefore be possible that Gift Orban will not make the big transfer as many had expected he would in this window.
Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, Lille in France as well as Sevilla in Spain were some of the front runners in the race to sign the explosive striker.
