KRC Genk hope they can achieve a breakthrough this week in the transfer of new Super Eagles boy Cyriel Dessers after positive discussions with his Dutch club Heracles.
Genk are keen to lure Dessers back to Belgium, but the stumbling block has been the six million Euros asking price of Heracles.
They now hope they can reach an agreement this week.
Dessers, 25, finished joint top scorer in the Dutch top flight after the competition was called off due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
He has said he hopes to know his future sooner rather than later.
“I don’t want transfer talks to drag and for me to wait all summer,” he said recently.
In the meantime, Paul Onuachu will miss today’s first day training at Genk after he flew back to Nigeria along with Lille striker Victor Osimhen, who lost his father recently.
Today will be a fitness session in the team’s outdoor training hall.
