Club Brugge and Raphael Onyedika are now just a point behind leaders of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League Genk after top scorer Tolu Arokodare missed a crucial penalty.
Arokodare had a chance to give Genk the lead in the 73rd minute after he was fouled inside the box.
His kick was saved by the Club Brugge goalkeeper and almost immediately the home team took the lead before they eventually doubled their advantage to win this topper 2-0.
In the first half, Super Eagles midfielder Onyedika saw his effort come off the post.
Genk remain top of the standings on 38 points from 18 matches, a point ahead of Club Brugge.
