The former club of Abdussalam Magashy have spoken again about re-signing the midfielder after he fell out of favour at fellow Swedish club AIK Solna.
IFK Varnamo, where Magashy played between 2020 and 2022, said they hope they could get back the player after he only managed 15 appearances at AIK last season.
In October, sports director Enes Ahmetovic said AIK did not co-operate with them on a transfer.
He has now said they remain keen to resign Magashy.
“Magashy will always be interesting for IFK Värnamo because he is a good player, but then he is AIK’s player and right now we have no contact,” said the sports director.
Furthermore, Ahmetovic told Fotbolldirekt that nothing concrete has yet happened.
“We have asked the question to AIK, how they see his situation, in order to know what we could do or not do in the future. But it hasn’t been more than that,” he said.
Ahmetovic was also asked whether it is a permanent transfer or a loan that could be for Magashy.
“No matter who we talk to, we always primarily look at permanent solutions,” he told Fotbolldirekt.
Magashy’s contract with AIK extends to the 2026 season.
