The Flying Eagles plan an extended training camp in Egypt ahead of next year’s U20 AFCON, which kicks off February 18 in the same country.
A top official told SCORENigeria: “The NFF with the push from the Task Force plan to get the Flying Eagles to set up an extended training camp in Egypt before the AFCON.
“The team enjoyed a good advantage at the WAFU qualifiers when they arrived ahead of time in Niger and played two warm-up games against the host country.
“That arrangement was what really prepared the Flying Eagles to win the qualifiers.”
The U20 AFCON, which will end on March 12, will decide the four African teams for the U20 FIFA U20 World Cup to be staged in Indonesia.
Hosts Egypt, Tunisia, Senegal, Gambia, Uganda, Benin, Zambia, South Sudan and Mozambique have qualified for the 12-team tournament.
