Against Senegal this afternoon, coach Aliyu Zubairu looks set to revert to the starting team that got the Flying Eagles their only win at this year’s U20 AFCON in Egypt.
This quarterfinal in Ismailia is a winner-takes-it-all clash as victory earns either of the two West African rivals qualification to the FIFA U20 World Cup later this year in Chile.
The Flying Eagles coach has chopped and changed his team in midfield and attack as he aims to get the winning formula in Egypt.
The team got off to a winning start in Group B against Tunisia, but they have since struggled against Morocco and Kenya.
In the final trainings in Ismailia, coach Zubairu now looks likely to reinstate Caleb Ochedikwu in defensive midfield, Divine Oliseh in attacking midfield as well as Bidemi Amole in attack.
Likely Flying Eagles Starting XI (4-3-3)
Harcourt – Okoro, Maigari, Bameyi (captain), Chukwu – Ochedikwu, Auwal Ibrahim, Divine Oliseh – Amole, Kparobo, Jephta
