Officials have informed SCORENigeria that striker Salim Fago Lawal will be available for tomorrow’s crucial U20 World Cup Group D clash against Italy despite being forced out by injury from Sunday’s opening win over the Dominican Republic.
“The injury is not serious,” a team official told SCORENigeria
“He will be available for selection for the next game against Italy.”
The young Mavlon FC striker was a surprise choice to lead the Flying Eagles strike force at the weekend, but he showed promise when he pressured the Dominican Republic defender to score against his team to draw Nigeria level.
However, the Katsina-born centre-forward was later forced out of the encounter by injury.
Bulgaria-based Emmanuel Umeh was his direct replacement.
