Former Flying Eagles striker Chukwuebuikem Ikwuemesi scored his first goal in Serie A for Salernitana to draw 2-2 at Sassuolo.
Ikwuemesi, who moved to Italy from Slovenia in the summer, opened scoring after just five minutes.
He said he would have preferred victory for his team.
“I’m very happy for the goal, but it was more important to win,” he said after a game they led 2-0 before the home team fought back to salvage a draw.
He has also scored in the Coppa Italia against Sampdoria.
He was replaced in the 55th minute by former Super Eagles striker ‘Simy’ Nwankwo.
Salernitana, who are yet to win this season in Serie A, are rock bottom of the table with five points from 12 matches.
