The Flying Eagles have been left stranded for several hours at the Buenos Aires airport today, officials told SCORENigeria
“We have been at the airport now for at least four hours,” complained team spokesman Sharif Abdalah
“The worse of it is that there has not been any explanation for this whole situation.”
The Flying Eagles led by NFF executive committee member Sharif Rabiu Inuwa were originally due to depart their Sheraton Hotel in Buenos Aires by 9am Argentine time for the airport for the two-hour flight to San Juan, where they will take on host nation Argentina Wednesday in a Round of 16 match.
Players and officials said they believe all these are a ploy to destablise them ahead of this crucial knockout match.
The team’s plans have been massively upset by this delay ahead of this match.
Officials could not confirm if they will train today when they eventually arrive in San Juan.
