Flying Eagles will only invite overseas-based players in areas of the team that are lacking, according to coach Ladan Bosso.
The pros will also have to join the team in Nigeria next month to battle for squad places to the U20 AFCON in Egypt in February.
Bosso has been encouraged by the quality of the players from the various home leagues as well as academies he has worked with in the past month in Abuja.
His conviction has already caused him to overhaul the squad who won the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifiers in May in Niger Republic that only a dozen players have so far survived the clear-out.
“I will invite foreign professionals in positions that I think we’re lacking and these players must come down and fight for their places before we head out to Egypt,” Bosso told SCORENigeria
From the team to Niger Republic, Ibrahim Mohammed Ibeji, Ahmed Abdullahi and Samson Lawal have moved to Europe, while Lithuania-based striker Adams Olubi was the only pro at the qualifying tournament.
The Flying Eagles are due to resume training camp by the first week of January.
