After the failure to qualify for the final of this year’s U20 AFCON, the Flying Eagles are now set to finish as the third-best team in Egypt at the expense of Tunisia tomorrow.
Flying Eagles spokesman Sharif Abdallah disclosed the team trained Wednesday at the 30th June Stadium in Cairo after they rested the previous day.
This was after their 1-0 loss to The Gambia in the U20 AFCON semifinal Monday.
Tunisia lost their own semifinal 3-0 to Senegal.
The third-place match is billed for Friday inside the Cairo International Stadium by 3pm.
Nigeria, Tunisia, Senegal and The Gambia have all qualified for the FIFA U20 World Cup to be hosted by Indonesia in May.
The draw will be staged on March 31 in Jakarta.
