Flamingos were tonight sent packing from the U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco after they crashed 4-0 to Italy in a Round of 16 tie in Rabat.
The Nigerian girls put up a battling display in the first half before they went down in stoppage time.
However, there was no stopping the Italians in the second half as they fired three unreplied goals in the 58th, 63rd and 88th minutes to end a spirited fight by the Flamingos.
Poor goalkeeping was the bane of the Flamingos with questions being asked about the selection of the first-choice goalkeeper, who has been inactive for two years.
