Ademola Lookman finally opened his goals account in the Italian Serie A after a rather slow start caused by his long-drawn transfer saga.
The Super Eagles forward drew home team Atalanta level in the 35th minute after AC Milan went in front after just four minutes.
Ademola Lookman had demanded a transfer away from Atalanta in the summer after reportedly agreeing personal terms with Serie A rivals Inter Milan.
However, Atalanta rejected a formal bid by Inter, maintaining that it fell below their valuation of the forward.
Atalanta remain the only unbeaten team in the Italian top flight, but they are seventh in the standings with 13 points from seven matches.
