Coach Bankole Olowookere has said he believes the Flamingoes will do a double over their DR Congo counterparts after they won the first leg of an U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier away in Kinshasa today.
Goals by Blessing Emmanuel in the 36th minute, Oluwatunmininu Adeshina 66th minute and Opeyemi Ajakaye 76th minute handed the Nigeria U17 girls a comfortable 3-0 win today.
The return leg will be played on March 19 in Benin City with the overall winners advancing to the next round of the qualifiers.
“We came to win and we have done that, but we won’t be complacent in the return leg,” assured coach Olowookere.
“We are hopeful we will reach the next round with another victory in Nigeria.”
