A top official has told only SCORENigeria that Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho will now join the Super Eagles squad in Abidjan by Friday.
“He will join the team either Friday or Saturday,” a top official told SCORENigeria
Coach Jose Peseiro has said the striker has fully recovered from a muscular injury that kept him away from the team’s training camp in Dubai.
This arrival date means Iheanacho will most likely not be involved in the Super Eagles opening Group A game versus Equatorial Guinea Sunday afternoon because he would not have trained sufficiently with the rest of the team.
Iheanacho is one of two players yet to team up with the Super Eagles in Cote d’Ivoire.
OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi, who was a late replacement for injured Victor Boniface, is the other.
Moffi will join the team Sunday after he has played for his French Ligue 1 club the previous day.
