The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is ready for football to reopen after the break caused by the Coronavirus Pandemic, according to FCT FA chairman Adam Mouktar Mohammed.
Football activities have been suspended in the FCT in line with the directives of the NFF following the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
However, Mouktar Mohammed has now said the FA are prepared to get the sport going again.
“We’re ready (for football to return) in the sense that we have acquainted ourselves with updates from both the WHO and NCDC,” the FCT FA chairman said on Global Sports programme on Arise TV.
“We have to follow the right protocols even if the fans don’t come back to the stadiums.
“But again this is subject to approval of the government and all the relevant health authorities.”
He further said: “We have also been having stakeholders’ meetings on how we can resume football so that it doesn’t do permanent damage to the game we all love.
“We have to be careful so that we don’t begin to forget football.
“We have to put football back in the fore front because it is a way of life for millions of our youths and it also contributes to Nigeria’s GDP.”
