FCT Football Association chairman Adam Mouktar Mohammed has disclosed major plans to revive beach soccer in Abuja.
“Beach soccer can bring all the family together and as such we hope to revive it in Abuja,” Mouktar Mohammed said.
“We are working on a beach soccer league as well as staging invitational tournaments in the city.
“The plan is to develop and promote the many forms of football in the FCT so as to broaden its appeal.”
Hundreds of beach soccer hopefuls have already stormed the Jabi Lake Beach Resort to begin training under the supervision of former Super Sand Eagles star Abdullahi Isa.
“I am happy with what I have seen so far, the players are responding well and already I have spotted some top talents,” said excited beach soccer co-ordinator Isa.
The FCT FA also plan to soon organise a beach soccer invitational tournament to herald the relaunch of the sport in Abuja.
