FCT FA chairman Adam Mouktar Mohammed has said he is pleased with the quality of young talent discovered at the inaugural FCT U15 Tournament.
Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) 2 emerged champions of the tournament, which involved the various area councils of the Federal capital as well as Fosla Academy.
AMAC 1 were runners-up, while Gwagwalada Area Council finished third.
“It was a great exercise which unearthed some very exciting youngsters,” Mouktar Mohammed.
“This has encouraged the executive board to organise this competition in a more regular basis, probably thrice a year.
“We also plan to use the programme to assemble a standing U15 team for the FCT.”
Mohammed promised during his electioneering campaign to develop and promote football at the grassroots as well as provide and improve the sporting infrastructure in the FCT.
Only recently, the FCT FA signed a co-operation agreement with two top European clubs, Juventus and Bayern Munich, for youth football development.
