FC Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi will start for Super Eagles on his debut against Algeria tomorrow night so as to stop danger man Riyad Mahrez, coach Gernot Rohr has revealed.
“He will start, he has done well in training, he is strong and fast and he will try and stop Mahrez,” said Rohr.
The 23-year-old left back joined Portuguese champions Porto in the off-season after he shone at modest Santa Clara.
Rohr also revealed he has been impressed with another fresh call-up, Frank Onyeka from FC Midtjylland of Denmark.
“He has made a good impression, he has a good presence, gets involved with the game,” he remarked.
Incidentally, both Zaidu and Onyeka will be involved with their respective clubs in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
