Both former Super Eagles star Prince Ikpe Ekong and his son Emmanuel were excited when the young striker made his Serie A debut for Empoli at the weekend.
Ekong junior was a 77th minute sub in a 2-2 draw at Salernitana on Monday night.
He was daring, displaying no fear as visiting Empoli fought back to draw 2-2 with the home team.
The striker said: “A dream come true for me to have made my Serie A debut.”
His father was even more effusive.
“He had a decent game and showed great things with how he used his speed to take on the opposing defence,” celebrated Prince Ekong.
“This is only the start of bigger things to come.”
Empoli are 15th on the table with four points from five matches.
Ekong only recently signed a new and improved contract with Empoli till 2027.
