SCORENigeria can report that Golden Eaglets captain Simon Cletus has attracted interest from the Premier League in England on the back of his superlative display at the WAFU B U17 AFCON qualifiers in Ghana.
Foreign clubs, agents and scouts have stormed Ghana to spy on some of West Africa’s hottest footballing prospects.
Attacking midfielder Cletus, 17, was the Man of the Match when the Golden Eaglets were pegged back 0-0 by Burkina Faso in their opening Group B clash Friday.
He showed guile and showcased a wide range of passing technique to stand out on the day.
A top source informed SCORENigeria: “The agent of a Premier League star has made an offer for the player.
“He wants to take him to Brentford.”
It would be recalled that Brentford have already signed on a permanent basis former Flying Eagles defender Benjamin Frederick after a successful loan spell.
Cletus featured at this year’s Viareggio tournament in Italy for Mavlon FC and he has already attracted interest from clubs in Austria and Croatia.
