Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro rates Ademola Lookman ahead of Moses Simon and so he will start the Atalanta ace in tomorrow’s AFCON Group A opening clash against Equatorial Guinea.

Lookman is a second striker at his Serie A club and that has explained his good numbers – 13 goals last season and already 7 goals this term.
He is often played as a winger by the Super Eagles and his numbers have been far less impressive.
The 26-year-old Lookman, who has changed international allegiance from England, has scored twice in eight appearances for Nigeria since his debut in March 2022.
Moses Simon was one of the stars at the last AFCON in Cameroon.
He is a committed, hard working winger, who helps out in the defence and is a team player as could be seen by his assists for both club and country.
The 28-year-old left winger is an experienced campaigner – 58 caps and eight goals for Nigeria since his full international debut in March 2015.
He is in a tight race for a starting XI spot with Lookman and could get some game time tomorrow depending on the demands of the match.
