A top source familiar with this interest revealed: “The Dortmund interest is serious, it’s not just some media talk.
“They believe they can make the boy a super star, like they did with Erling Haaland and (Jadon) Sancho.”
In the meantime, FC Lorient will, whether they survive relegation or not, most likely be forced to sell him even though he still has two years left on his contract because of their poor finances.
Like most of the Ligue 1 clubs, their finances are in a mess because the league’s broadcaster has gone bankrupt and cash from sale of TV rights make up as much as 80% of Lorient annual revenue.
Only recently both players and officials agreed pay cuts that will save the coastal club 2 million Euros.
