IFK Goteborg midfield star Alhassan Yusuf is again in the radar of Premier League clubs after he was previously linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield United and Leicester City.
‘Hasse’, a dynamic ball winner who has been widely compared to Chelsea star N’Golo Kante, now has only a year left on his contract with Goteborg.
SCORENigeria has now specially gathered that several other clubs from the Premier League have cast their eyes on the 20-year-old Alhassan, who was widely expected to have said his goodbye to Sweden last month.
Last season was a very disappointing campaign for IFK Goteborg – a 12th finish, their lowest in 18 years – but even at that the Nigerian ace shone.
Only three other players in the Allsvenskan – the Swedish top league – made more than his 1828 passes with an 89.6% completion rate.
The FC Hearts star has equally been a consistent performer – 26 appearances in the 2019 season and 28 matches last season.
There could be fears that Sweden’s Young Player of the Year two years ago will not be granted a work permit to play in the English top flight as he has yet to be capped at full international level.
But this could well be bypassed by farming him out to a sister club in Belgium, Holland or Germany to gain more experience and most importantly regular game time.
