SCORENigeria can report that African football giants Al Ahly are keen to sign Flying Eagles midfielder Daniel Daga.
Daga, who only turned 16 this year, may only have played less than 45 minutes at the U20 AFCON in Egypt no thanks to a knee injury, but Ahly have long been monitoring the defensive midfielder right from the WAFU B qualifiers in Niger Republic last year.
“There’s interest on Daga by Ahly,” a source told SCORENigeria
“He may have played less than a half at the AFCON, but they have been monitoring him for a long time and now want to sign the boy.
“It will most certainly be a step up the NPFL, where he now plays for Dakkada.”
After the WAFU B qualifiers, where he scooped two Man of the Match Awards, several top European clubs expressed interest in the dynamic midfielder.
Daga is currently undergoing rehab in Abuja for a knee injury he suffered in the Flying Eagles opening Group A match against Senegal.
It is believed he will be out for another four weeks.
