Everton will reward impressive Alex Iwobi with a new contract.
Iwobi’s current deal will run out in June 2024, but the Premier League club want to now tie him down to a longer agreement.
Discussions for a new contract are at the preliminary stage, but are expected to be stepped up in the coming weeks.
Iwobi, 26, has posted several superlative displays in new roles in the Everton midfield this season.
He was named Man of the Match when Everton won their first Premier League match of the season at the expense of West Ham Sunday.
He provided the assist for the only goal against West Ham and his overall play was also commendable.
Iwobi recently celebrated his 100th appearance for ‘The Toffees’.
The win over West Ham has taken a huge weight off the shoulders of manager Frank Lampard.
