Officials said Enyimba will be without striker Victor Mbaoma for Wednesday’s CAF Champions League first round first leg game at Al Merreikh of Sudan due to an ankle injury.
Mbaoma suffered the injury during Enyimba home tie against Rahimo of Burkina Faso in the Champions League preliminary round, according to Enyimba spokesman Zazi Samuel Bariza.
The 24-year-old striker scored match winner for the Nigerian club in the first leg in Burkina Faso.
Bariza also said the two-time African champions will also be without youth international defender Imoh Obot, who was sent off in the 1-1 draw with Rahimo in Aba.
The official said another defender who could be a direct replacement for the suspended Obot, Daniel Darkwah, has returned to action after illness.
Enyimba advanced to the Champions League first round at the expense of Rahimo, while Al Merriekh eliminated Congolese club Otoho D’Oyo.
