The family of late Ifeanyi George will be compensated by a life insurance Enugu Rangers took on behalf of their players, according to the players union headed by Harrison Jalla.
Ifeanyi George was killed in a car crash along with two others Sunday on his way to Lagos from Enugu after Rangers granted players a break following the suspension of the NPFL on account of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
In a statement made available to SCORENigeria, NANF quoted Rangers general Manager Davidson Owumi on a life insurance for their players.
“I can assure you that the Rangers Management Corporation has comprehensive life insurance policy in place for its players and officials,” Owumi said.
“His Excellency the executive Governor of Enugu State Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi ensures that insurance premiums are paid promptly and as and when due.
“As we speak his Excellency has ordered the activation of the insurance claim and we are on top of the situation.”
NANF has commended Rangers for this policy.
