AC Milan starlet Victor Eletu has dropped to the bench, while Tochukwu Nnadi will start alongside Daniel Daga in defensive midfield for tonight’s U20 World Cup Round of 16 tie against hosts Argentina.
As expected, central defender Benjamin Fredrick has returned to the starting XI after he was not risked for fear of bagging a suspension against Brazil, while Daniel Bameyi will revert to right back after playing in central defence the previous match.
Curiously, coach Ladan Bosso has insisted on attacking midfielder Samson Lawal, whose numbers have not been impressive, and striker Salim Fago, who has lacked the bite that direct rival Emmanuel Umeh has at the head of the attack.
Star of the team at both the WAFU qualifiers and the AFCON in Egypt, Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Beji’ has been handed a second chance to shine after he struggled in previous games.
Kick-off time is 10pm.
