Godswill Ekpolo has said he has yet to decide if he will extend his contract with Swedish club BK Häcken, who want him to stay put.
Ekpolo, 26, arrived at BK Hacken in the summer of 2018 and has been key player ever since.
Häcken sports director Martin Ericsson has been clear that he wants Ekpolo to extend as his contract has ran out.
In an interview with Fotbolldirekt.se, the 26-year-old defender said: “My agent is talking to Häcken, and it’s his job to do it. I love Häcken, they have given me a lot.
“But now I have to make a decision that affects my career, so I need to choose whether to stay or leave. So we will see what we come to.”
However, despite his love for Häcken Ekpolo did not rule out a transfer inside Sweden.
“No. If I need to leave, I’ll leave. If I need to stay, I’ll stay,” he said.
“I have to make a decision that benefits my career. I have to think about myself first.
“If you change jobs, you do not do it out of love or something like that. You have to think about what is best for you. Or how?”
Ekpolo made three assists in 29 starts this past season.
