The chairman of Mediterranean Sports Limited, Mohammed Audu, is now in the net of anti-corruption agency EFCC in connection with the alleged multi-billion Naira sponsorship fraud at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC) and NFF vice-president Shehu Dikko has claimed he resigned his position on the board of Mediterranean Sports Limited when he took up his current positions.
In a letter dated November 15, 2018, reference number EFCC/EC/P/01/583 to President Muhammadu Buhari, EFCC chairman Ibrahim Magu stated Mediterranean Sports Limited is owned by Shehu Dikko.
According to Premium Times, businessman and politician Mohammed Audu was arrested in Lagos and taken into custody by EFCC operatives.
The alleged fraud was in US dollars and Naira to amount to a multi-billion Naira scam.
Audu has been accused of using his company to divert the funds.
According to the report, he is to soon be charged to court.
