Dutch league leading scorer Cyriel Kolawale Dessers has revealed he cannot wait to receive his first Super Eagles call-up.
Dessers is widely expected to be called up by coach Gernot Rohr for this month’s 2021 AFCON double-header against Sierra Leone after he pledged his international allegiance to Nigeria even though he could also play for Belgium, where his father is from.
“The family and everyone is waiting and hopeful,” the red-hot striker said in respect of the Eagles invitation.
His mother is from Lagos and only recently he got a Nigerian passport.
Nigeria lead their qualifying group for Cameroon 2021 with six points from their first two matches.
They welcome the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on March 27 in Asaba before they face the same team again in Freetown four days later.
