Cyriel Dessers has finally signed for newly promoted Serie A club US Cremonese from Belgian club Genk.
The Italian club reportedly splashed out 6.5 Million Euros for the 27-year-old striker.
“Cyriel has decided to go for his dream and go to one of the top European competitions,” Genk reported on their website today.
“We thank Cyriel for his efforts for KRC Genk and wish him every success in his future career.”
Dessers will team up with David Okereke, who signed from another Belgian club Club Brugge and has been capped by Nigeria at U23 level.
During the summer of 2020, Dessers came over from Heracles Amelo, where he finished joint top scorer in the Dutch league.
However, he could not pin down a first XI place at Genk no thanks to the red-hot form of fellow Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu.
He eventually had to go on loan to Feyenoord, where he made a huge success of it after he finished top scorer of the inaugural UEFA Conference League with 10 goals.
However, the Dutch club did not activate the purchase option for the player after the loan deal.
Dessers will hope his goals will help Cremonese to stay up in Serie A in the new season.
