Cyriel Dessers is facing an uncertain future at hometown club Genk as he will now be pushed down the pecking order of strikers after Ike Ugbo finally completed his transfer from Chelsea.
Dessers played second fiddle to Paul Onuachu last season.
Ike Ugbo scored 17 goals and made an assist to help another Belgian club, Cercle Brugge, escape relegation last season.
The 22-year-old striker, whose parents are Nigerian but he was born in England, will now be considered ahead of Dessers, who scored four goals last season.
In the off-season, Dessers was even linked with a move away to Turkey, but the striker, who made his Super Eagles debut last year, has insisted he will fight for his place in the first team.
Onuachu was widely expected to make a big transfer after his goals last season and if he did not, he will be the top-choice striker for Genk.
