Rangers have confirmed that a bid for striker Cyriel Dessers has been rejected because it was far below the valuation for the striker.
Rangers manager Russell Martin announced: “We turned down a bid a while ago for him that was nowhere near the valuation of the football club, and he’s been great, he’s desperate to train.”
AEK Athens of Greece have been reported to have submitted a bid for Dessers and are still negotiating a transfer fee for the much-traveled striker.
Martin praised the striker’s professionalism, but disclosed that he is currently nursing an ankle injury.
The Super Eagles striker therefore could only watch Rangers draw 2-2 with Belgian team Club Brugge in a pre-season friendly.
