A delayed arrival at San Juan has caused the Flying Eagles to miss an official training session at the match venue for tomorrow’s U20 World Cup Round of 16 clash against hosts Argentina.

Several team members told SCORENigeria that the delay running into several hours was “deliberate” as they have yet to be given any explanations.

“Everyone was unhappy by the delay, but the players have vowed this won’t stop them from giving their best tomorrow,” team spokesman Sharif Abdallah told SCORENigeria

Argentina failed to qualify for this year’s tournament from the South American qualifiers earlier this year, but got through the backdoor after they stepped in as host nation when FIFA withdrew the hosting rights from Indonesia.

In the meantime, the Flying Eagles will this morning in Argentina, which is four hours behind Nigeria, hit the gym, before they finally have a feel of the pitch at the Estadio San Juan del Bicentario between 5.30 and 7pm.
