South Africa coach Hugo Broos has said his team are motivated to beat South Korea Thursday morning to reach the knockout rounds of the World Cup for the first time in their history.
Bafana Bafana will need to beat Korea in their final group game to book their passage to the Round of 32.
“It will be a tough game, but we’re confident, we’re motivated to make history as South Africa have yet to reach the knockout rounds of the World Cup,” Belgian coach Broos said.
Broos, who said his team were overwhelmed by the occasion when they fell 2-0 to co-hosts Mexico in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup, plans to retire after the tournament.
