The Golden Eaglets led by coach Nduka Ugbade will tonight in Cape Coast, Ghana, face most likely their sternest test at the U17 AFCON qualifiers when they take on Burkina Faso to determine the best team in WAFU B.
Burkina Faso have won all four of their matches and scored nine goals thus far and also have the fire power to match that of their Nigerian rivals.
Ousmane Camara is one of the leading scorers in the competition with five goals and an assist, while Aboubacar Sidiki Camara was sensational when the Young Etalons denied host nation Ghana a chance to reach the championship game and also qualify for the U17 AFCON in Algeria.
Ousmane Camara has scooped two Man of the Match awards and netted the decisive penalty to send Ghana packing.
The Eaglets have, on the other hand, lived up to the billing in Ghana despite only a few weeks of preparation for the qualifying tournament.
They have again showcased the attacking football Nigeria is known for with skipper Precious Williams, Kevwe Iyede, Light Eke and Jubril Azeez showing their class up front.
They have netted 10 goals, but failed to keep a clean sheet in all three games they have played.
However, leading scorer and most likely the MVP of this tournament will be leftback Emmanuel Michael, who has scored three goals all from free kicks.
He was named Man of the Match in all three matches the Eaglets have won and all eyes will again be on him to conjure his magic tonight.
Both finalists have qualified for the U17 AFCON in March 2023, but who will be crowned WAFU U17 champions?
Kick-off time is 7.30 pm.
