Nigerian clubs continued to struggle in the CAF Confederation Cup after Enugu Rangers were held to a scoreless draw at FC Nouadhibou of Mauritania and Enyimba lost 1-0 to Algeria’s Paradou.
The draw in Mauritania earned Rangers their first point in Group A, but they remain third of the standings halfway through the group phase.
Pyramids FC top the table with nine points, three points ahead of fellow Egyptians Al Masry.
Rangers will host the Mauritanian champions in the reverse leg on January 12.
Enyimba were felled by a 64th minute goal by Ghorab to record their second loss of the series.
They are third of Group D with three points with HUSA from Morocco top of the table on seven points.
‘The People’s Elephant’ will now be seeking for revenge when they play Paradou in the reverse fixture on January 12.
