It will be yet another clash at international level between Nigeria and DR Congo after the Central African country today eliminated Mauritania to set up a meeting between the two countries next month.
DRC turned the table against Mauritania today courtesy of 2-0 home win after they lost the first leg 1-0.
Nigeria U23s, handled by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, will be away to DRC on November 9 with the return leg in Nigeria on November 17.
The overall winners will advance to the next round of the U23 AFCON qualifiers that will lead to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
It would be recalled that in November 2025 DRC stopped the Super Eagles from the 2026 World Cup under some rather controversial circumstances.
