Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has again singled out Nathan Tella for special praise after he scored twice in a win over Wigan.
Burnley beat Wigan 3-0 with Tella delivering two of these goals.
Tella, who has pledged his international allegiance to Nigeria, has now netted 14 goals in the English Championship and 16 goals in all competitions this season while on loan from Southampton.
Kompany said the forward has made great progress under him.
“he’s definitely showing signs of improvement to his game,” he remarked.
“If you look at the Nathan Tella we got through the door at the beginning of the season to the things he does now, he’s slowly getting to the level where he’s fulfilling some of his potentials.
“In my opinion he’s still got a long way to go, but it’s exciting to work with a player like him.”
Burnley are now 13 points clear at the top of the table.
